Sharon Kearley is a textile artist and designer who works with the elements of weaving, felting and machine embroidery. She took a degree in Textile Design at Chelsea School of Art & Design [1995], where she specialised in weaving and embroidery techniques. Her career has encompassed working on costumes for films, television [ Channel 4, Planet24 ] and theatre. She has recently returned to the UK after living in northern Spain for eight years where she showed her work, including at the XIII Edition International Catwalk of Young Designers and gained several retail commissions. Sharon says "I enjoy playing with fabric manipulation, and embellishing my pieces with beads, feathers, embroidery, metals and semi-precious stone". Tim Richardson is a pastel artist. In the early seventies Tim worked in London for the president of the landscape architects off marble Arch having qualified from art college with a diploma in 3D design with distinction. 'A great time to be in London working on inner city play area projects', new ideas abound, his interest lay with modern applied ceramics on a large scale. After several years in London his interests in music led him onto the national stage as a jazz drummer a passion formed at an early age which continues today. A decision to follow a career path led him to working in many areas of graphic design with internationally established studios with any space time spent making objects for exhibition which he termed 'architecture ceramics'. The challenge of pastel painting and love of landscape came to the fore in 2003. Tim's first solo exhibition in St Mary Bourne of 25 paintings proved very successful followed by Weyhill Gallery, mixed exhibitions in Newbury, Hungerford and Oxford. Tim will be showing a collection of North Hampshire landscape paintings. Bruce Crabbe is a woodcarver who has been carving for twenty years and is a very skilled craftsman having worked with others on large scale national projects to smaller pieces for individuals. He is largely self-taught with a passion that drives his ever needed thirst for carving. Commissions come from different areas, architects, traditional fair grounds, galleries, to name a few. Ray Galvani's style can best be described as Primitive or Naïve, in the tradition of the outside artist. Oil paint is his chosen medium. He offers original works, limited edition prints as well as hand made greetings cards. Ray lives and works in Whitchurch. Sue Climpson creates jewellery, original art and limited edition giclee prints. As an illustrator she has many years experience both in commercial illustration and in fine art. Sue's style is based upon a unique blend of traditional skills of drawing and painting and the very latest computer technology to produce interesting, powerful and very decorative art. Sue lives in Whitchutch and has worked on many prestigious advertising and magazine projects together with children's books illustration. Rebecca Speculo's focus for ceramic work is an exploration of colour and line, through which she develops a range of unique decorative patterns. Using the thrown vessel, the simple forms Rebecca, from Andover, creates offer a striking contrast between the earthenware structure and the rich decoration. She believes that process is an important element within her work and by using a combination of mark making techniques it is her intention to express her response to natural structures and formations which form the ideological basis for her work. The Oxford Jazz Quartet with Lizzie Newbery will be playing a great mix of jazz standards and cool funk. This is aA not to be missed performance Tickets £5.00 on the door and there's a bar, why not have meal before in the Red House of White Hart?? |
